The Mesh GX610 from Mesh Computers, priced at £699 is an ideal cheap gaming laptop. Using an AMD processor instead of Intel this laptop is charged by a ATi 512MB HD2600 graphics card. This backed up with a massive 2GB of RAM and AMD 1.9 processor will satisfy games players and media users alike.

The Mesh GX610 chassis is eyecatching because of the high gloss finish, while this attracts fingerprints (MESH include a laptop cleaning cloth) the casing around the machine oozes a sexy design to compliment the raw power.

A 189 minute battery life is adequate and combined with the reasonable weight of 2.8kg puts this laptop in the effective travel partner category. Gamers will be glad to know the keypad is both responsive, well made and comfortable - the only slight grumble is that the keys on the right hand side are too close together, this is to allow room for a full numeric keypad.

The widescreen 15.4 inch is bright and the colours and vibrant and rich, making office work, games playing and media applications a joy to run. Photo and video editing could also be achieved easily with the Mesh GX610. Also included is a nifty integrated camera - ideal for easy video recording or instant photos for online chatting. The DVD rewriter is excellent for watching movies on.

Hard disk space is ample - 120GB is enough room to store those demanding video files or games and MESH include an HDMI port (this enables the laptop to connect to external HD screens) which is a nice bonus to get considering the price of £699.

Internet access is provded by a strong Wireless LAN - 802.11b /g (with built in antenna) and there is also bluetooth pci card fitted to help connect to external devices like mobile phones etc.

We liked the Mesh GX610 because of the raw 3d games power and the addes bonus devices fitted. Perhaps not suited for an office environment working PC this laptop offers top gaming performance at only £699 and the 24 month warranty from MESH Computers only adds to the terrific value.
